Donations from Henry Schein Medical and The Professional Football Athletic Trainers Society Help Elevate Athletics in the Community

Mobile, AL, December 3, 2025 – John L. LeFlore Magnet High School, located in Mobile, Alabama, recently received a donation of equipment and supplies from Henry Schein Medical and the Professional Football Athletic Trainers Society (PFATS) as part of the school’s athletic training room build. “This transformative upgrade will significantly enhance the prevention, treatment, and recovery of sports-related injuries, providing our student-athletes and staff with the tools necessary to train safely, heal effectively, and perform at their highest potential,” said Ian Rogol, Athletic Trainer, John L. LeFlore Magnet High School. “More than just an athletic space, the new facility will also support broader health and wellness initiatives within our school community. We are sincerely thankful for this meaningful investment in the well-being and success of our students - today and in the years to come.”

John L. LeFlore Magnet High School opened its new athletic training clinic to its students in August 2025. Henry Schein Medical’s Athletics and Schools business and PFATS donated essential athletic training supplies, such as treatment tables, taping stations, recovery equipment, and other products to help furnish John L. LeFlore Magnet High School with the proper equipment needed to provide exceptional care for athletes. In addition to its donation, Henry Schein Medical helped design the clinic, procure furniture and exercise equipment, and set up the facility.

“It is paramount that athletic trainers at all levels have optimal environments and resources to help deliver exceptional care, facilitate recovery, and ultimately empower athletes to reach their full potential safely and effectively,” said Eric Kearns, National Sales Director of Henry Schein Medical’s Athletics and Schools business. “This collective effort with PFATS is crucial, as no single person or entity can achieve this alone. It truly takes organizations working together to provide comprehensive support.”

Each year, Henry Schein Medical’s Athletics and Schools team sponsors the Tim Davey Assistant Athletic Trainer of the Year award presented by PFATS. As part of the Award, the organizations support the rebuilding of an athletic training facility of the winner’s choosing. The 2024 recipient was Byron Cunningham, Director of Sports Medicine at the Los Angeles Rams football team.

“It’s an honor to be a part of the improvement of the athletic training facilities at my alma mater, John L. LeFlore Magnet High School,” said Byron Cunningham. “LeFlore holds a very special place in my heart because it’s the foundation of my growth. The teachers and support staff played a pivotal role in shaping my character, work ethic, and goals. Giving back in this way is my way of honoring the LeFlore community that helped shape who I am today.”
