MELVILLE, N.Y., April 29, 2026 – Henry Schein Orthodontics (HSO), the orthodontics business of Henry Schein, Inc. (Nasdaq: HSIC), today announced the availability of Froggymouth®, a myofunctional device designed to support the management of orofacial dysfunctions. Manufactured by Biotech Dental Smilers, Froggymouth is now available through Henry Schein Dental in the United States, further strengthening HSO's commitment to delivering comprehensive, clinically supported solutions that help address functional factors associated with malocclusion, as Froggymouth may contribute to improving long-term treatment outcomes as part of a comprehensive approach.

"We are excited to bring Froggymouth to orthodontic and dental professionals through Henry Schein," said Zachary Meli, Vice President and General Manager at HSO. "Addressing dysfunctional swallowing patterns is an important, and often overlooked, component of comprehensive orthodontic care. Froggymouth offers clinicians a passive device based on published scientific literature that’s simple for patients to use and may contribute to improving long-term outcomes — and we are proud to make it accessible through our trusted distribution network."
A Passive Approach to Swallowing Rehabilitation
Froggymouth is a passive functional rehabilitation method that helps support the rehabilitation of dysfunctional swallowing patterns without requiring active muscular exercises from the patient. Worn for just 15 minutes a day — typically during screen time — the device works through a four-step process and helps support the rehabilitation of dysfunctional swallowing patterns through: inhibiting the primary dysfunctional swallowing habit, the accumulation of saliva creating an urgent need to swallow, promoting the discovery of a more physiological swallowing pattern, and encouraging the new pattern to become automatic. With repeated daily use, the device supports neuromuscular re-education and may contribute to improved tongue posture at rest.
Developed in 2011 by Dr. Patrick Fellus, a French orthodontist who specializes in functional and pediatric orthodontics at Robert Debré Hospital in Paris, Froggymouth is inspired by principles of orofacial functional rehabilitation and neurophysiology. The approach is supported by scientific literature related to orofacial myofunctional therapy, including peer-reviewed studies in the European Journal of Pediatric Dentistry and Dentistry Journal.
Compatible with Active Orthodontic Treatment
Froggymouth is compatible with active orthodontic treatment, such as Smilers® aligner therapy and traditional orthodontic treatment, including Sagittal First correction. Using Froggymouth concurrently with orthodontic treatment aims to address functional factors associated with malocclusion and may address contributory factors. A Froggymouth and aligners workflow is also available within the Smilers platform. In a recent study, 85.7% of patients treated with Carriere™ Motion® and Froggymouth developed a correct swallowing pattern in as short as four months.
Froggymouth is a Class I medical device and must be prescribed and supervised by a healthcare professional. Treatment duration can vary, typically ranging from two to six months.
Froggymouth devices and kits are now available to browse and order on the Henry Schein Dental website. To learn more about Henry Schein Orthodontics and its full portfolio of solutions, please visit HenryScheinOrtho.com/Froggymouth.
